Sea life in the Golfo Dulce
The Golfo Dulce here on the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica is a stunning and biodiverse marine environment renowned for its rich sea life. This sheltered inlet is one of the few tropical fjords in the world, surrounded by lush rainforest and volcanic mountains. The warm, nutrient-rich waters of the gulf create an ideal habitat for a diverse range of marine species. The deep warm waters are the ideal spot for whales to have their babies, and part of the year (July-November) you are likely to spot a whale tail splashing from the sea shore.
